Lawn Tennis Association’s Matt Elkington on the training Spautism provided for tennis coaches

Spautism delivered training sessions for the Lawn Tennis Association around the inclusion of autism in sport, firstly with the LTA’s coach development centres and secondly with the tutor workforce. The group of tennis tutors work with beginners through to performance athletes, so the training will help make a difference at all levels of the game.

Education resources

Spautism has used National Lottery funding to release free education resources for schools and businesses to improve the understanding of autism among students and staff.

It’s important to empower SEN [Special Educational Needs] pupils who may feel isolated and also use sport to teach about autism across the whole school, helping to break down misconceptions and stigmas that impact autistic individuals all over the world.
